LIGHT FINDER & AR PLACEMENT
Goals and Objectives:
Develop a mobile application for a company, that produces its own lighting products, to help users present their products with very detailed information to their customers.

Challenges:
-
Heavy Product Samples - User is having difficulty presenting all the products when they visit their customers because of not being able to carry all their products.
-
Need of Electricity - User might need electricity to demonstrate the functionality of the products, which is not possible in every situation.
-
Lack of visual stories - Customers may need to know how the products look in real life and perform in real projects.
-
Outdated or incomplete Information - The product catalogs or materials are outdated or incomplete, leading to missed opportunities or confusion.

Process:
The process was started with the user research to understand the pain points, then we analysed the results and outlined the product's key tasks. I developed the concept into wireframe sketches and low-fi prototype to test the product with users. It was then translated into hi-fi prototype.
RESEARCH
I conducted interview with the sales team and lighting designers to gain deeper understanding of the problems and uncover their pain points.
"Need to show more products for more sales."
Spending hours searching for great project photos and products being
used.
Cataloges or documents might be outdated or incomplete.
"I'm frustrated carrying all the products in heavy bags"
Persona:
After analyzing the key points, I created a user persona of my target users to better understand their needs, preferences, behavior, and goals.

IDEATION
Concept and Strategy
This mobile app is designed as an all-in-one digital toolkit for sales representatives and lighting designers. It empowers users to efficiently showcase the entire product line without the need for bulky physical samples. The app will house a complete catalog of all lighting products, categorized and easily searchable by name, type, or feature, enabling users to compare different versions of a product, such as color, brightness, angle, efficiency. Each product entry will include detailed specifications, 2D and 3D drawings, and multiple reference images. The catalog will be continuously updated to reflect new products and the lates information. To enhance the sales experience, the app will incorporate AR technology, allowing users to project 3D models of products into real-world environment. This feature will help clients visualize how a product will look and fit within their space.

By integrating these features into a single, cohesive platform, the app will revolutionize the way useds present products, making their interactions with clients more efficient, persuasive, and impactful.

PROTOTYPE
Lo-Fi Prototype
I created multiple wireframes options for each screen, consistently aligning them with the target audience, company mission, and objectives to effectively communicate successful stories to customers.

AFTER THOUGHTS
This project has been a challenging and rewarding experience for me. At first I was anxious abut taking on something outside of expertise. However, by leveraging my skills as both product designer and solution engineer, it turned out to be a project I thoroughly enjoyed. Having worked as a lighting designer for many years, I was familiar with the challenges. However, understanding other users and finding out what other pain points was an amazing experience.

Despite the tight timeline, I was thrilled to discover that even small adjustments can lead to significant impacts, ultimately enhancing the user experience. This project reinforced the importance of continuously validating our assumptions through testing, reminding me that user feedback is crucial to creating meaningful and effective design solutions.
